SVRN - Sport Volunteer Research Network

What is the SVRN?

The Sport Volunteer Research Network is a group of individuals and organisations interested in fostering the development of research into sport volunteers in the United Kingdom. With this in mind, we have set ourselves the following objectives:

(i) To facilitate the interchange of information, ideas, and practice in the research of sport volunteers;
(ii) To actively disseminate research about sports volunteers;
(iii) To support the work of the Sport’s Strategic Partnership for Volunteering;
(iv) To act as an authoritative body in matters of sport volunteer research
(v) To inform about volunteering research from other sectors; and,
(vi) To stimulate further research into sports volunteering

How do we do this?

Meetings

The SVRN meets twice a year. Each of these meetings provides an opportunity for researchers and practitioners to discuss issues surrounding research into sport volunteers and volunteering. A significant part of each meeting includes guest speakers, who share their insights into research.

The next meeting will be on Wednesday 14 October 2009. If you would like to register to attend, please contact Lindsay Sutherland (details below).
