CCPR Annual Conference - 7 May 2008

Playing to Win

In In the run up to 2012, sport in this country is being charged with making a difference. A difference to people’s lives. A difference to people’s eating habits. And even a difference to their hopes and aspirations. Yet whilst expectations are raised, money is being squeezed and as success is being demanded, governing bodies are having to become ever more sophisticated to deal with those increased expectations.

Playing To Win, this year’s CCPR conference, will challenge government and opinion formers to get a more realistic grasp of the day to day realities of life in sport and recreation, as well as offer governing and representative organisations an insight into the key issues affecting the sector.

  • Gerry Sutcliffe MP - Sports Minister
  • Derek Casey - Director, Glasgow 2014
  • Jeremy Hunt MP - Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport
