Enduring Powers of Attorney
A new law will come into force on 1 October 2007 which will fundamentally change the way we can authorise someone else to manage our affairs if we become mentally incapable. This will have serious implications for all of us no matter how young or healthy we are now. The downloadable guidance note explains what an EPA is and for what it is used. A cursory search of the internet will confirm the advisability of taking this step to make things easier for friends and family to manage the affairs of a relative who loses mental capacity, even temporarily. Sports people can be particularly vulnerable to injury which can affect their ability to manage their affairs for short or long periods of time.

Needham James are offering the wider membership of CCPR 10% off our usual rates for preparing and advising on EPAs (usual rates: £85 plus VAT for one EPA and £150 plus VAT for a pair) to encourage people to act on our advice before this short window of opportunity disappears. They can take instructions by telephone or email if distance or other commitments make a meeting logistically difficult.
