General Council

The General Council provides an overall forum for discussion and debate, bringing together member representation of all the committees and organisations operating under the CCPR banner.

The role of the Council is to assist the Board with input from all aspects of CCPR operations, to monitor and scrutinise the activities and performance of the Board, and to advise on the development of strategy. It elects the CCPR President, treasurer and, with the exception of two appointments, its directors too.

The Council, which normally meets twice a year, is made up of:

  • The three CCPR Officers (Chair, deputy chair and treasurer) plus the Chief Executive
  • The most recent past CCPR Chair
  • Two CCPR Vice Presidents
  • Divisional Chairs and Deputy Chairs
  • The Chair of the Regional Committee
  • The Chair of the CCPR Enterprises Board
  • One representative from the Ethics and Equity Committee
