Development Opportunities


The majority of CCPR's member organisations rely on volunteers to deliver sport and physical recreation opportunities. Some may also benefit from the support of a professional team.

The table below identifies a range of organisations that provide development opportunities for volunteers and professionals. Read the table from left to right to identify the target audiences, the organisations that support them and the type of development opportunities they provide. You may find a learning opportunity to meet your needs, or the needs of those you work with here!

Club Volunteers / Committee Members Sport England

Sport England's Running Sport programme provides a range of workshops which equip sports club volunteers to better develop their club. Workshops are available nationwide and are open to all. For further information visit www.sportengland.org and click on Running Sport, or telephone 0845 7585136.

Sports Development Professionals National Sports Development Seminar The NSDS takes place annually in Nottingham. The three-day programme includes keynote speeches and interactive workshops on key sports development issues.

Volunteer Managers

A volunteer manager is someone who takes responsibility for recruiting and supporting the volunteers who are the lifeblood of sports organisations.
