The Federations sit within the DIO and their members are the regional and county governing bodies of sport. The district and local sports councils (which comprise sports clubs and associations within a local authority district) are also in membership.
Regional Federations represent sport and recreation at a local level, covering all sports. This gives them the advantage of having an overview of all local facilities enabling them to provide valuable interaction with providers of local sport such as local authorities and Regional Sports Forums.
The Committee is made up of:
- East Midlands Federation of Sport and Recreation
- Federation of Eastern Sport
- Federation of South West Sports Organisations
- Federation of Yorkshire Sport
- London Federation of Sport and Recreation
- North East Federation of Sport and Recreation
- North West Federation for Sport, Recreation and Co
